We are smitten today with this wonderful summer wedding in Santorini captured beautifuly by Studio Phosart. As if the gorgeous Greek island was not enough, the adorable couple had a unique and romantic wedding theme: “The entire wedding was a puzzle for us from the very first moment… We thought of the whole process piece by piece just like you do in a puzzle. We wanted every element in the wedding to be a part of us and in the end everything to tie and matched with each other. Just like puzzle pieces…”
“My wedding dress was an exclusively handmade Megla-M wedding dress, created by designer Matina Megla. It was exactly like I what always dreamt my wedding dress would be. It was handmade from fine French lace. I am very happy that I had the chance to have such a unique design for my wedding dress”.
For the wedding ceremony, the couple chose beautiful gold-plated wedding wreaths, Karme from Thallo.
Valia’s advice: “If the bride is absolutely certain for the man by her side… then everything is really easy!”
When we asked the bride about the details of her wedding and what she enjoyed the most, she told us: “It wouldn’t be really fair to choose certain details… Everything for us was really detailed and there was a lot of talking and debating about everything…”
The wedding ceremony, took place in the beautiful church of St. Marcus in Imerovigli. Valia and Alex decided to get married in Santorini because as they told us: “Is there anything better than a summer wedding on an island ?Santorini is an enchanting place…”
“The whole wedding felt like we were on a vacation with our favorite people.. It is extremely hard to select just a single moment that we really liked… However, the moment when we were all gathered at the church is unforgettable… Half of the people were down below in the surrounding area of the church and the rest were above the church area with Alex, waiting for me. Everyone was smiling and seemed emotional…”
The wedding reception as well as the bridal preparation, took place in Cavo Ventus, a luxurious villa built on a breathtaking location. The view is stunning!
“The island by itself gave a unique color to the wedding. That was the original idea for design and decoration, therefore we didn’t really need much more decorative details than aromatic basil plants”
A unique idea for some gifts for the guests, were the stylish pashminas that were given to the guests at the reception.
A beautiful alternative wish book idea: a wooden puzzle-map of the island! The wedding guests wrote their warmest wishes on pieces of the wooden puzzle.
“We knew each other since we were little kids… We were in school together, we were friends…actually very close friends. Our story is just like the saying: If it’s meant to be, it will be!”
