An elegant Greek island wedding in Spetses… an island with beautiful vivid colors, hospitable people and the most authentic Greek island enviroment. Stavroula and George had the wedding of their dreams.
Before they said “I DO”, Stavroula and George had an unforgettable and fun prewedding party at the beach bar Booze with their close friends and family.
“I consider myself lucky… I chose the first wedding dress I tried on! I truly felt it was made for me!”, Stavroula told us.
“I believe that my wedding dress was the perfect choice for a Greek island wedding…”
A romantic and airy wedding dress by the well known and respected in Greece and abroad, designer Loukia. When designing, her inspiration derives from the theater, poetry, cinema, music and art… she creates designs that are timeless and elegant.
The groom got ready in the Economou Mansion, an authentic traditional and historical old mansion, situated beside the deep blue sea.
The wedding ceremony took place in the historic church of Saint Nicholas that is built at the entrance of the old port, facing the island lighthouse. Stavroula arrived at the church in a horsedrawn carriage that was decorated with peonies, lovely flowers that were also used in her bridal bouquet.
Stavroula shared the following pieces of advise with brides that are planning their own wedding:” First… you must agree with your future husband on the wedding concept and plan based on that… without too many detours in order for everything to run smoothely. Second… organize, organize, organize! and third… make quick desicions”.
“Our Greek island wedding had many beautiful moments… however, the one that really stood out was the first dance and when the wedding party began…”
Definitely a unique idea for wedding guest gifst were the “thank you” tote bags. As Stavroula mentions: “We didn’t have wedding favors but we gave our guests the “thank you’ tote bags as gifts. Our wedding planner and Aristea made them and they had a small bottle of liquer, traditional cookies and …bubbles for the wedding party!”
The couple stayed in the La Cupola Suite of the Poseidonion Grand Hotel. The impressive wooden ceiling resembles a traditional Greek boat (kaiki), leading to a special sky window at the top. The private roof terrace has a panoramic view of Spetses town.
Amazing images by the talented wedding photographer Thanasis Kaiafas. The newlyweds mentioned: “We wanted to share this special moment of our life with our loved ones and create moments that we will always remember! Thanassis offered so much to us during those days… it is important that we can share them with our frinds and family that were not at our Greek island wedding with us…”
