Today we will transport you to the most spectacular, ancient city of Italy… Matera! This city of stone is one of the most unique and impressive places of the world and for sure, one of the most unexpectable and magical places for weddings. Marta and Oliver traveled from New York with their beloved ones to tie the knot and celebrate to the fullest this special moment! The couple exchanged vows in front of a wooden arch with olive leaves and white flowers and with the natural beauty of Matera as a background. After their romantic ceremony, they had an enjoyable dinner under the starry sky enhanced with rustic elements such as wooden furniture, garlands of olive leaves, white flowers and candles. We are absolutely in love with every romantic detail of this destination elopement and can feel the couple’s love radiating through the following photos by Katja & Simon Photography!
Katja & Simon Photography shared with us: “When we first got the email from Marta and Oliver, we had no idea what and where Matera is. The first thing we did is google the name to see some photos, and wow! We were so surprised. We knew about this extraordinary ancient town somewhere in the south of Italy, we just never remembered the name. So, there we were, sitting behind our computer, with our jaws open and just thinking about what this wedding would look like.
Marta and Oliver come from different countries in Europe, but now live in New York. So, when they decided it’s time to tie the knot, they already knew they want to do it somewhere abroad. Everybody would have to travel anyways, so why not pick a fun, somewhat remote location. Somewhere where nobody has ever been! If you would meet them in person, you would only need 5 minutes to see how fun, relaxed and spontaneous they are. It’s no surprise that they closed their eyes and pointed their fingers randomly somewhere on a map. And it was this place – Matera!”
